Action

The main feature of the drug is its anticancer effect. This compound works by binding to estrogen receptors inside the cancer cells. This process inhibits the synthesis and release of growth factors. In this way, the formation of progesterone receptors is also stimulated. This has the effect of inhibiting the division of cancer cells with a large number of estrogen receptors. This drug is very well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Its maximum concentration in the blood occurs about 4-7 hours after taking it. Its 99% is bound to plasma proteins. Metabolism occurs in the liver. It is excreted in 65% in the form of metabolites.

Dosage

The dosage of  Tamoxifen  may vary. It all depends on the person for whom it is intended. This is conditioned by genetics, sensitivity to excess testosterone, as well as the type and dose of steroids that the athlete uses. In the case of men who are at risk of gynecomastia, i.e. breast enlargement, it is usually about 10-20 mg per day throughout the cycle. At the onset of the first symptoms of gynecomastia, the dose can be increased to 40 mg daily until the symptoms subside.
In the case of women, a dose of 20 mg once a day or 20 mg in two divided doses is used for therapeutic purposes. If the drug is ineffective in the first cycle, a higher dose of 40 mg/d in the second cycle and 80 mg/d in the third cycle can be used.
